Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Boiler Technologies Unlimited Inc. (“BTU,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with our commercial boiler service, repair, and maintenance business and this website, btuinc.net.
By using this website or contacting us, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.
1. Who we are
Boiler Technologies Unlimited Inc.459 Columbus Ave, Suite 376
New York, NY 10024
Telephone: 212-372-9834
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to schedule, perform, document, and bill for service work. Depending on how you interact with us, that may include:
- Contact information — your name, company or building name, telephone number, mobile number, and (where provided) email address.
- Service information — the building or site address where work is performed, equipment makes and models, service history, technician notes, combustion and inspection readings, and photographs taken in the course of the work.
- Billing information — billing contacts, purchase order numbers, and payment records. We do not store full payment card numbers on this website.
- Messages you send us — the content of a web form submission, email, or text message you send to us.
- Basic technical information — standard web server log data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, used to keep the site running and secure.
We do not knowingly collect information from children, and this website is not directed to children under 13.
3. How we use information
- To respond to inquiries and schedule service.
- To dispatch technicians and perform requested work.
- To send service-related communications — appointment reminders, dispatch and technician-arrival notifications, job completion follow-up, and billing notices.
- To maintain equipment and service records for your building, including documentation used for annual inspections, registrations, and filings.
- To invoice and collect payment.
- To meet legal, insurance, and regulatory obligations.
4. SMS text messaging program
BTU may send text messages to customers who have opted in. Message types include billing notifications, appointment reminders, dispatch notifications, and job completion surveys. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, after which no further messages will be sent. Reply HELP for help, or call us at 212-372-9834.
4.1 How we collect consent
Boiler Technologies Unlimited Inc. will be collecting opt-in verbally from their customers. The customers will be able to opt in to receive messages either in person at their physical location, or over a phone call if the customer calls. When a customer is registered for the first time, they are asked to provide the phone number, and staff is trained to ask if the customer would like to opt in to SMS-based billing notifications, appointment reminders, dispatch notifications, and job completion surveys. They will be verbally informed that “Message and data rates may apply”, “Message frequency may vary”, and they can “text HELP for support or more information and STOP to unsubscribe, at any time and no further messages will be sent.” They will also be informed that their information will not be shared with third parties.
Customers may also opt in through the consent checkbox on our Contact page. That checkbox is never pre-checked, and consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase.
4.2 Mobile information is never shared for marketing
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services, such as customer service and dispatch platforms, is permitted solely so that those providers can deliver the service on our behalf. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data with anyone for their own marketing.
5. When we share information
We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Vendors who operate systems we use to run the business — our field service management and dispatch platform, our messaging provider, our accounting system, and our web host. They may process information only to provide services to us, and subject to the limitation in Section 4.2 above.
- Building owners, managing agents, and authorized representatives. Where you are our customer of record for a building, service documentation may be provided to the parties responsible for that building.
- Manufacturers. Where a warranty claim requires it, we share the equipment, failure, and service details necessary to process the claim.
- Regulators and authorities. Where required for inspections, registrations, filings, or where we are required by law, subpoena, or court order.
We do not sell personal information to third parties, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
6. Cookies and website analytics
This website uses only the cookies necessary for the site to function. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and describe what is collected. We do not use this website to build advertising profiles, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers.
7. Data retention
We keep service, equipment, and billing records for as long as needed to service your building and to satisfy legal, tax, insurance, and regulatory record-keeping obligations. SMS opt-in and opt-out records are retained for as long as required to demonstrate compliance.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices
- Text messages. Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
- Telephone and email. Ask us to stop contacting you by a particular method and we will honor it, except where we need to reach you about work in progress or a safety matter.
- Access and correction. Contact us at the phone number above to ask what information we hold about you, or to correct it.
10. Changes to this policy
